Student meal services offered at GCS during district closure

During this extended closure, the district will offer meal services to feed students in our community. All GCS students are eligible to participate. In addition, anyone living in the community 18 years old and younger may participate. The meals will be provided at no cost.  The district will provide meal pick-up via a drive-thru service from 10:00 am. – 12:30 p.m. for both breakfast and lunch daily to any child in our community ages 18 and younger. All GCS students are eligible to participate regardless of their age.  These meal services will be offered at Hal Henard Elementary School, 425 E. Vann Road, and Greeneville High School, 210 Tusculum Boulevard. For those using the GHS site, please enter the school campus via Palmer Street. Palmer Street is located next to Burley Stadium. Parents and guardians are urged to begin making plans to drive through the parking lots at either GHS or Hal Henard next week to pick up the meals.

In addition to the option of meal pick up, the district will also deliver meals to strategic locations for those without transportation. If anyone needs meal delivery for children, they are urged to call the district office at 423.278.9156 or complete an online survey per information below. Please pay close attention the information located near the bottom of this release. In order to reduce the number of trips that parents have to make to the schools, a specific plan for days that meal pickup will be available is listed below.

If you are a community member who intends to participate in meal pickup or delivery, please fill out our online survey at:  https://bit.ly/3d9hwMU (English version); https://bit.ly/3b0v4IT (versión en Español).

The survey link will also be available on our website homepage at: www.gcschools.net  The information community members provide will only be used to assist the district in meal preparation and distribution.
